TRAVEL ZONE: COO Office Mauritius

Extraordinary and dynamic visa consulting firm requires COO with huge growth and earning potential, self-motivated, driven out of the box thinking to build formidable business relationships, modules and capture the local market. The successful candidate will be responsible for initial startup, information gathering, sourcing opportunities, and growing clientele and work closely with founding Directors.

COO Responsibilities:
The COO is a new role within the emerging market of Mauritius, responsible for
setting up strategy and building, self-motivating and retaining new business on
this new concept within the Mauritian market.

Some of the key deliverables include working with the Directors and Leadership Team in South Africa to ensure we continue to attract and retain the best of the best in our Mauritius based branch, to continually develop and strengthen our company locally and abroad, and to ensure we have the best people policies and processes to support our continuous growth.

You will also work closely with the South African based directors at first and
operations teams on areas such as concept, logistics, service and later evolve into management, recruitment, and branch growth.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, sometimes
unstructured environment where personal accountability is valued.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:
Initial research on embassies, visa processes, courier logistics, immigration and branch set up analyses.

The most important factor would be sourcing clients for the Mauritius branch.

Client Engagement – Define & implement engagement strategy – we care deeply
about the engagement of our clients to keep productivity & retention.

HR: Lead on people decisions, training of the managers on HR topics, ensuring
our policies and processes reflect the law and our values, and we live by them.

People management: Lead and scale our existing internal recruitment and office management functions and built out a team of people/HR professionals over time.

Diversity: Drive efforts to embed our unique culture and values further to promote diversity & inclusion across all our office branches.

  • Requirements:
    A proven track record of 5+ years in sales/ management related role – You’ve ideally been a Lead/Head/Director/VP of Talent or People in another fast-growing startup and know what it takes to build a brilliant People function with clear company growth structures.
  • Have a track record of business building, system orientation and processes to rapidly build companies into strong identities. Have a passion for people. You are highly self-aware, personable and can show successful delivery across recruitment, employee growth, culture, and engagement.
  • Come with strong foundational theory, but through experiences and trial and error you know what works and when we need to employ specific strategies to achieve a result.
  • A proactive doer. You embody proactivity, with a can-do roll-your-sleeves-up attitude, and don’t wait around to be told what to do!
