About the Event

2021 has sparked the institutionalization of digital assets culminating in the recent supportive SEC regulation for Bitcoin ETFs sending the asset to a new record high. Digital assets now represent a market capitalization of USD2,5 Trillion with participation from market-leading firms like Facebook, Paypal, Twitter, Microsoft, Visa, JPMorgan, Banco Santander and Ark Investments, Guggenheim Investments and many others.  The SA Chamber of Commerce (Mauritius) invites you to come learn from experts about how digital assets and blockchain technology is innovating traditional finance especially in the areas of Banking, Securitization, Insurance, and Investment Management. There are also exciting investment opportunities.   In the span of 10 years, the technology through sheer adoption has made its way from the underbelly of the internet to the high tables of regulators, central banks and the world's largest companies. Let us recall that no so long ago, the internet in its wake has destroyed century-old businesses and out of the ashes borne new champion unicorns of the modern economy. Whether we take it as a challenge or an opportunity, we need to be prepared!  Our speakers will assess each of these sectors, highlighting their current flaws and inefficiencies, and provide insight into what they may look like in the future given the introduction of new technologies, and the open for a panel Q&A for your questions.
